Founder’s Office Intern
(Unpaid, Part-Time)

Executive Support Team

This role works directly with the CEO to help build Piscys in-flight during its earliest stage. You’ll support company formation, operational structure, research, and execution across business, governance, and product-adjacent efforts.

What you’ll support:

  • Support startup operations, documentation, and internal processes

  • Assist with research across AI governance, compliance, and market landscape

  • Help organize planning artifacts, timelines, and internal working docs

  • Sit in on strategic discussions and learn how early-stage decisions are made

What this role is not:

  • Not a replacement for a paid operations, program, or executive assistant role

  • Not responsible for revenue generation, fundraising, or external commitments

  • Not a decision-making or authority-bearing position

  • Not expected to manage confidential matters independently

  • Not required for the company’s day-to-day functioning or success

Who this is for:

  • Someone interested in startups, venture-backed companies, or tech operations

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and learning by doing

  • Organized, thoughtful, and reliable

  • Prior exposure to startups, consulting, or tech programs is a plus

What you’ll gain:

  • Direct exposure to founder decision-making in a deep-tech startup

  • Real responsibility, not busywork

  • Mentorship and long-term reference potential if it’s a strong fit

Why this role exists:

Piscys is intentionally building its foundation carefully. This role is scoped to support learning, exposure, and contribution without placing the intern on critical execution paths or substituting for paid staff. This internship is designed to give motivated learners meaningful exposure to early-stage deep-tech thinking.

Technical Research Intern
(Unpaid, Part-Time)

AI Product Support Team

This role supports early-stage technical research at Piscys, working alongside the CTO to explore concepts related to AI governance, assurance, and system design. The focus is on learning, experimentation, and validation — not production engineering or core platform delivery.

What you’ll support:

  • Conduct research on AI systems, governance tooling, and emerging assurance approaches

  • Assist with exploratory prototyping and proof-of-concept experiments

  • Support testing, QA, and validation of early ideas and mock workflows

  • Document findings, tradeoffs, and open questions for the core team

  • Help evaluate tools, frameworks, and architectures relevant to AI assurance

What you won’t do:

  • Own or ship production code

  • Be responsible for core MVP delivery

  • Be placed on critical execution paths

Who this is for:

  • Students or early-career technologists interested in AI, systems, or governance

  • Comfortable learning in ambiguous, early-stage environments

  • Familiarity with Python or AI/ML concepts is a plus, but not required

  • Curious, thoughtful, and reliable over flashy

What you’ll gain:

  • Direct exposure to how early technical and architectural decisions are made

  • Mentorship from an experienced Site Reliability Engineer and Founder

  • Practical experience evaluating AI systems responsibly

  • A strong reference and continued engagement with the team beyond the internship, where appropriate

Why this role exists:

Piscys is intentionally building its foundation carefully. This internship is designed to give motivated learners meaningful exposure to early-stage deep-tech thinking — without placing them inappropriately on production responsibilities.

Always Seeking Those Who Share Our Commitment
to Ethical AI and Cybersecurity

Your expertise can drive innovation and make a difference in governance and compliance.

We seek people who:

  • Thrive in ambiguity but drive precision.
  • Value impact over ego.
  • Value collaboration, humility, and rigor in equal measure.

Hiring at Piscys is not a transaction — it’s a commitment. Each new hire is viewed as both a contributor and culture carrier. We optimize not for speed, but for signal: humility, curiosity, and ethical clarity hold equal weight to raw technical horsepower. If alignment falters, we address it early, constructively, and compassionately — ensuring every departure preserves mutual respect. We hire slowly, invest deeply, and part respectfully.

As Piscys grows, formal people systems will be introduced in proportion to headcount and operating maturity. Future culture and people practices are intended to reflect the same principles of transparency, accountability, and evidence that inform the company’s product philosophy.

Future Compensation Principles

As Piscys begins hiring paid employees, the company intends to apply the following compensation principles, subject to operating stage, legal requirements, board governance, and the terms of individual employment arrangements.

  • Living Wage Model: Every employee earns at least the local living wage benchmark (based on MIT calculator).
  • CEO Pay Ratio: CEO compensation capped at 6× the lowest-paid employee.
  • Equity Distribution: Equity tied to long-term contribution and ethical leadership.

This structure aligns human dignity with fiscal prudence: equitable pay lowers turnover costs, transparent progression reduces politics, and capped executive pay builds trust.
